Profile

Berenice Abbott, born in Springfield, Ohio, became a well-known photographer to the expatriates of 1920's Paris. She became the assistant to Man Ray and Eugene Atget. During the Depression she took a job for the WPA and photographed the neighborhoods of New York City.
